Italian Cooking Dinner Party

That's amore! CookingThyme hosted an Italian Cooking Dinner Party this weekend, as a surprise birthday party for Sarah and five of her friends! Check out the photos below to see how our party decorations, table setting and delicious menu...

We used Italian-inspired prints on easels [above] and created accordion-fold fan decorations using an old map of Italy [below]...

Jen writing on the infamous CookingThyme chalkboard
[we heard that one hand on the hip makes for straighter chalkboard writing...]
Our table setting was inspired by rich textures and organic simplicity.
We used tan burlap on the table, and deep brown burlap as the napkin rings.
Herbs in small glass jars served as our centerpiece for the dining table.

We served savory palmiers as the hors d'oeuvre, along with wine and salted cashews.

 The Italian-inspired menu:
Herbed breadsticks
Spring greens with friend goat cheese
Roasted tomatoes with garlic, gorgonzola and bread crumbs
Baked tortellini with smoked mozzarella
Espresso semifreddo

After preparing the meal, the group sat down to enjoy the delicious dinner!

It's not a birthday unless you blow out the candles! Happy birthday Sarah!
